The Art of the Plug
I take pride in leaving absolutely no trace. I don't dig open holes. I cut clean, recoverable plugs.
The Cut: Using a specialized serrated digging knife, I cut a clean horseshoe or circular shape into the turf, leaving one edge attached as a hinge.
The Flap: The grass and roots are gently folded back onto a drop cloth or towel, ensuring no loose dirt spreads into the surrounding grass.
The Return: After the target is recovered, the soil is poured neatly back in, and the grass flap is folded shut and stepped on firmly. The roots reconnect, and the lawn is undisturbed.
